In his free time, he is a sports enthusiast, a certified ski and tennis instructor, an avid kitesurfer and windsurfer, runner, football player, and chess player.

Prof. Piotr Dobosz

Piotr Dobosz is a Professor of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków

In 1994, he obtained his doctoral degree from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University. His doctoral dissertation received an individual award in a national competition organized in 1995 by the Ministry of Culture and Art, the General Conservator of Monuments of the Republic of Poland, and the Association of Monument Conservators for the best scholarly, academic, and popular works in the field of heritage protection and museology.

On December 12, 2012, he earned his postdoctoral degree (habilitation) at the Department of Administrative Law, and in 2017 he was appointed Associate Professor at the Jagiellonian University and awarded the title of Professor of Legal Sciences. He also serves as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Administration and Economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnów. He is a member of several organizations, including the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Polish National Committee of ICOMOS, the Social Committee for the Restoration of Kraków's Monuments, the Society of Lovers of the History of Kraków, and the Kościuszko Mound Committee in Kraków.
He is the author of over 200 academic publications. He has received numerous awards for scientific and organizational achievements from universities, state authorities, and professional associations, as well as national and municipal honors, including the Bronze Cross of Merit (2002), the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2020), and the Silver Medal "Gloria Artis for Merit to Culture" (2018). He was also awarded the Gold Badge for the Protection of Monuments by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Poland (2003) and the "Honoris Gratia" badge (2017).

Dr. Piotr Hapanowicz

PhD in Humanities, Historian, Publicist PhD in Humanities, publicist, graduate of the Jagiellonian University. Certified curator at the Museum of Krakow and head of the Krzysztofory Palace Branch.

Multiple scholarship recipient of the Polish Historical Mission in Würzburg, the Jan and Suzanne Brzękowski Fund in Paris, and the Brzezia Lanckoroński Foundation in London.

His research focuses on the history of Krakow, Polish parliamentarism, and museology. Author of numerous scientific and popular science publications, including the books: Senators of the Kraków Voivodeship in 1922–1939; General Zygmunt Zieliński (1858–1925). A Sketch for a Portrait; The Kraków Meetings of Prince Józef Poniatowski; Kraków Sketchbook. People – Events – Monuments; and Karol Rolle (1871–1954). President of Kraków. A Sketch for a Portrait.

Curator of the permanent exhibition Cyberteka. Kraków – Time and Space, as well as several temporary exhibitions, including those devoted to the January Uprising and Tadeusz Kościuszko.

Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University and the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at the Jagiellonian University.

Assistant at the Department of Administrative Law. Author of the doctoral dissertation entitled The specificity of administrative and legal institutions of sports law under the supervision of Prof. Piotr Dobosz, PhD.

Author of over fifty scientific articles devoted mainly to the issues of sports law, cultural heritage protection law, and local government law. Initiator and chairman of the organizing committee of eight editions of the scientific conference series Legal forms of monument protection and care. Scientific co-editor of nine Polish- or English-language peer-reviewed multi-author monographs devoted to this subject.

Professionally associated with the National Heritage Institute (head of the NID Field Office in Krakow). An active social activist – vice-president of the Institute of Heritage Protection Law, board member and treasurer of the Kościuszko Mound Committee in Krakow, member of the Krakow History and Monuments Lovers' Society, the Association of Monument Conservators, and the Legal and Organizational Committee of SKOZK. Local government official – Deputy Chairman of the Krakow District VII Zwierzyniec Council.

Historian with additional studies in education management. Since 1998, he has been involved in patriotic and civic education for children and youth.

He has been associated with the Dr Henryk Jordan Youth Centre since 2006. Author and implementer of numerous educational projects, including the Patriotic Tram, Student – Citizen, Guardians of Memory and Youth Remembers initiatives. He is also active in civic education through the Małopolska Education Centre (Małopolskie Centrum Edukacji MEC). Publisher of patriotic songbooks. Member of the Board of the Kościuszko Mound Committee in Kraków.

Experienced Senior Press Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the public relations and communications industry.

Skilled in Fiction, Media Relations, Radio, Poetry, and Rewriting. A strong specialist in information technology, graduate of Jagiellonian University.

Co-host of the regular programme on Radio Kraków entitled Kraków for beginners and advanced learners, long-time contributor to Radio Kraków and Gazeta Wyborcza, author of scripts for radio and television programmes (including for RMF FM radio and Telewizja Polska) and museum programmes – the salt mine in Bochnia, the Goetz Palace in Okocim and the Fire Museum in Żory.

In addition to writing books and journalistic articles, he lectures and teaches classes, including for students of the Heritage Academy at the International Cultural Centre, postgraduate students of Public Relations at the Jagiellonian University, and students at the National Archives and the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow.

The Honorable Phyllis C. Borzi

Former Assistant Secretary for Employee Benefits Security, U.S. Department of Labor; Catholic Law, Board of Visitors

A former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) from 2009 until 2017, overseeing approximately 700,000 private-sector retirement plans and 2.3 million group health plans as well as additional welfare benefit plans that together provide benefits to approximately 150 million Americans.

She represented the Department of Labor (DoL) in implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She was instrumental in important pension regulations, including the DoL’s Department’s 2016 rule extending Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) fiduciary duties to financial advisors to pension plans and retirement investors and the 2020 rules on ESG investments and proxy voting by pension plan fiduciaries. Ms. Borzi headed the U.S. delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Working Party on Private Pensions and Insurance from 2009-2017. From 1995-2009, Ms. Borzi was a research professor in the Department of Health Policy at George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services and practiced law at a Washington, D.C. law firm. From 1979 to 1995, she was Pension and Employee Benefit Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and Labor. She is a nationally recognized expert in pension and health benefits, the author of numerous articles and a frequent speaker on these issues both in the U.S. and globally. She graduated from Catholic Law where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review and now serves on the law school’s Board of Visitors.

Professor Jim Mazurkiewicz

Professor Emeritus, Regents Fellow and Leadership Program Director

Leadership Program Director for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Texas A&M University Professor in the Department of Agriculture Leadership, Education & Communications. Since 1998, he has directed the prestigious Governor Dolph Briscoe Jr. Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership (TALL) programme, which prepares future leaders in the agricultural sector in Texas.

He also runs the San Antonio Livestock Exposition – Leadership Extension (SALE-LE) and TALL Emerging Leaders International Exchange Program, which support the development of managerial and educational staff in agriculture. Previously, he worked for 20 years as an agricultural development agent in four Texas counties – Guadalupe, Knox, Ector and Brazos – actively supporting local farmers and rural communities by implementing modern educational solutions.

His scientific and teaching activities focus on leadership development in the agricultural sector, the implementation of innovative teaching methods, and the establishment of international academic cooperation with particular emphasis on food and energy security.

Currently, he is President of the Brazos Valley Fair and Expo, Chairman of the Bryan\College Station Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Council, Member of the Brazos County Expo Hotel/Motel Tax Committee, Board Member of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce in Texas and President of the Polish American Council of Texas.

He has been the recipient of several awards including Honorary Doctorate from SGGW University in Warsaw, Poland in 2021, Bryan/College Station Sister Cities Global Impact Award in 2019, Regents Fellow in 2012, the Bryan /College Station Volunteer of the Year Award in 2013, the Commander’s Cross Medal of Merit from the Polish President in 2016, the Medal of Honor from the Polish Minister of Agriculture in 2011 and the Outstanding Leadership Program Director Award by the International Association of Programs for Agricultural Leadership in 2010. Also recognised by the Polish American Chamber of Commerce in Texas, Epsilon Sigma Phi and Texas AgriLife Extension for his contribution to the development of agricultural education and the agro-industrial sector.

Mateusz Jurczyk

Branch Director, Kraków & Katowice American Chamber of Commerce in Poland

M.A. (Faculty of Law and Administration, Jagiellonian University in Kraków), MBA (University of Bedfordshire, UK).

He joined the American Chamber of Commerce in January 2019, to run the Kraków and Katowice Branch of AmCham Poland and was appointed Branch Director in January 2021.

Mateusz is also responsible for running ’AmCham 30 Under 30’ - a youth development program, coordinates energy-related issues and the ‘Rebuild Ukraine’ working group. Except that he is a lead of American Investor Desk – an AmCham project supporting Polish companies on their way to the U.S. market expansion. He has 18 years of professional experience in senior management positions, working for both Polish and international companies, where he focused on finance, quality, relationship-building, and sales.
