Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary with the U.S. Consulate and Embassy

Both events commemorated the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the U.S. Declaration of Independence—a milestone of profound historical and symbolic significance.

For Poland, this anniversary is not a distant chapter of history, but an integral part of our shared story, shaped by the legacy of Tadeusz Kościuszko, Kazimierz Pułaski, and countless others. From the earliest days of the American Revolution, Kościuszko embodied the values of freedom and equality that continue to unite our nations.

Poland’s Freedom250 celebrations were officially inaugurated on February 12 by U.S. Ambassador Thomas Rose and U.S. Consul General in Kraków Gretchen McKeever Cureton at the Kościuszko Mound in Kraków—the country’s most distinctly Polish-American landmark and a place deeply connected to our shared legacy of freedom and independence.

This historic anniversary offers an opportunity to strengthen transatlantic ties, deepen dialogue, and create new avenues for cooperation between Poland and the United States. May the friendship between Poland and the United States continue to grow stronger!
